AccountEdge will not be Catalina or Big Sur compliant

We are extremely disappointed to share that Acclivity Software (the world-wide developers of AccountEdge) have informed us that AccountEdge will not be offered as a Catalina or Big Sur product.
As you may be aware, Apple's decision to remove support for 32-bit applications, requiring that all software be upgraded to 64-bit with no backward compatibility, demanded that AccountEdge be similarly upgraded. In spite of Acclivity’s multi-year 64-bit upgrade project, involving their full team of developers and analysts, it’s a project that has not been possible to complete. In the end, AccountEdge’s 30-year-old codebase proved too outdated to establish compatibility with Apple’s newest operating system.
We recognise the inconvenience this may present to some AccountEdge customers who wish to take the optional upgrade to macOS Catalina or Big Sur, and for that we are truly sorry. Until very recently it has been our earnest intention to deliver you something compliant, new and awesome.
AccountEdge 2021 will be released in March, as normal, with feature updates and payroll tax compliance, and AccountEdge will continue to receive updates in the future.
We’ve outlined your options below for continuing to use AccountEdge on your Mac, including on macOS Catalina or Big Sur.
1. Don’t upgrade your Mac to 10.15 Catalina or 11.0 Big Sur
You can continue to use AccountEdge on pre-Catalina computers, running up to macOS 10.14 Mojave.
AccountEdge will continue to receive payroll tax updates and upgrades in the future.
2. Use Parallels to run AccountEdge for Mac under Catalina or Big Sur
Popular software like Parallels allows you to run an earlier version of the macOS alongside Catalina or Big Sur.
Using AccountEdge under Parallels provides a native Mac environment for you to continue using AccountEdge for Mac on macOS Catalina and Big Sur.
Parallels effectively provides you with a second desktop with which to use AccountEdge for Mac in exactly the manner to which you are accustom.
3. Use a secondary computer
If you have a secondary Mac computer that has yet to be updated to Catalina or Big Sur, you can continue to use AccountEdge on that machine. AccountEdge will continue to receive payroll tax updates and upgrades in the future.

4. Downgrade your macOS
On computers that have been upgraded from an earlier macOS, it may be possible to roll back your Catalina or Big Sur installation and return to an earlier macOS. This option may not be available if your computer came with macOS Catalina or Big Sur pre-installed.
It is recommended that you contact an IT professional for assistance in performing a roll-back to an earlier macOS.
5. Create a separate partition to install two different macOS versions on the same Mac
It's possible to partition your Mac to install Catalina or Big Sur alongside your current version of macOS, or vice-versa. This provides the option to 'dual boot' your computer, allowing you to select or another macOS when turning on your computer.
Speak to Apple or your IT administrator for professional advice about partitioning your Mac.
6. Start your computer from an external hard disk to run an earlier macOS
This option is similar to option 5 but instead of partitioning your existing hard disk, you install a second macOS on an external hard disk, providing the option to 'dual boot' your computer into one or the other macOS.
