How to remove write-protection on all files in the database

It is important that all files in Mamut Business Software's database is not write-protected, otherwise can the program may not function correctly.

How to easily remove write-protection on all files in the Data folder:

Alternative 1:


1.Start Windows Explorer

2.Right-click on the Mamut folder, this lies usually in the Program files folder.

3.Choose Search in the menu.

4.In the "All or part of the filename" field, enter *.* as the search criteria. Click on the Search button.

5.All files are now shown. Click [CTRL] + [A] so that all files are selected.

6.Right-click on a random file (of those that are marked) and choose Properties. It may be some time before the next window is shown.

7.When next window, remove the tick in the tick-box Write-Protected.

8.Click OK.

9.You have now removed the write protection [on/to] all files in the Mamut folder.



Alternative 2:


1.Open a DOS-window (MSDOS Prompt in Win9x, Command Prompt in NT and Win2000)

2.Write in the following: CD\ and click [Enter].

3.Write in the following: CD <the path to the Mamuts database> ("CD Program Files\Mamut\Data" if the Data folder in the default installation path) and click Enter. If you do not remember where the server files lie, go into Mamut Business Software and choose View/Settings - Other Settings - Other Programs. The path to the database lies in the field Data Location.

4.Write in: Attrib -r -s -h /s *.* (Remember the intervals, i.e. such: Attrib(SPACE)-r(SPACE)-s(SPACE)-h(SPACE)/s(SPACE)*.*

5.Close the window.

6.You have now cancelled the write protection on all the files in Mamut Business Software's database.
