When starting Mamut I receive the message " Invalid document location".

article ID: 2023536

There are several reasons that the message Invalid document location, may appear when starting Mamut Business Software.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The reason could be that:

- You don’t have access to the document area

- The document area was moved, without having a new path specified for the program, or

- No network path has been specified for the document area

Single-User:

If you receive this message on a Single-User Installation, it means that the document area was moved to another disk space. To solve this, you need to copy back the document area by following these steps:

1. Write down the path that is written in the message.

2. Go to the document area, which has been moved. The document area should be available in the File System000x.

3. Copy the document area to the path (see point 1.)

4. Start Mamut.

If you would like to move the document area to another storage space, you will find more information here.

If the document area has been moved to another computer (e.g. Server), it will be necessary for you to write down the network path. More information about how to proceed in this case, can be found below under the last point regarding Multi-User.

Multi-User:

If you have installed a Multi-User version of Mamut and receive the message Invalid document location, the reason could be that:

3. Copy the document area to the path that is given in the error message (see point 1.)

4. Start Mamut.

- A local path (C:\) was given for the document area.

o Solution:

1. Share the document area so that every user of the program can have access to it.

2. Start Mamut on the Server machine.

3. Go to View – Settings – Other Settings – Other Programs.

4. Click on Edit and write the network path in the field Document area

(a network path could be e.g. \\servername\Mamut\Data\System0001)

5. Click on Update, to save the new path.
